Aspendos<\/strong> is known for the best preserved Roman Age theater of Mediterranean World. The city was founded on the hill plane close to one of the biggest rivers of the region K\u00f6pr\u00fc\u00e7ay (Antique Eurymedon). The coins named Estvediys were minted in 5th century B.C. . The name having Anatolian-origin, is the evidence that the city was a settlement all along.<\/p>\n

The City of Perge<\/strong> is 17 km east of Antalya city centre, within the borders of Aksu. It is not only the most organized part of the region but also for the whole of Anatolia. Its sculpture is as popular as its architecture. The important monumental structures of the city have been discovered through excavations made by the University of Istanbul since 1946 and due to the finds of sculptures Antalya Museum has one of the richest collections of Roman sculpture.Historians considered Perge was founded at the end of the Trojan wars (1275 B.C)<\/p>\n

The Antalya Museum<\/strong> is among the leading museums in the world with its Sculpture Works from the Roman period and unique finds found during the rescue\u00a0excavations of the museum. In Antalya, which is a unique open air museum with its archeological richness and the international excavation center, many excavations and research have been carried out by Turkish, German, American, French, Austrian and English archaeologists and science comissions. Most of the rescue excavations in the region and the environmental arrangement have been performed by the curators of the museum.\u00a0The\u00a0museum\u00a0was awarded “The Prize of the Best Museum” by the European Council in 1988.<\/p>\n
